Parks & Recreation
Wilson Tuscarora was originally obtained by the State of New York in 1965. The park encompasses 390 acres of mature woods, open meadows and marshland. Wilson Tuscarora is a well preserved natural area for many varieties of plants and wildlife.
A boat launch is available on Tuscarora Bay, an area that is divided from Lake Ontario by a strip of land called "The Island". Emergency storm shelter docks are available.
The east branch of Twelve Mile Creek, a New York State Department of Environmental Conservation designated protected wet land area, flows from the bay and consists of marshes. In this area you will find an abundance of flora and fauna.
A four mile hiking trail provides a picturesque walk on winding nature trails. During the winter months, trails are open for cross-country skiing or snowshoeing.
Hunting for small game is available in the park from mid October to mid November. Duck hunting is available by permit only.
